Where heritage meets home
Rugs Land is a small UK rug shop with a big collection: elegant Mamluks, soft Ziegler and Chobi rugs, tribal kilims and runners, each one a single piece you will not find twice.
We work directly with weaving families in Afghanistan who have perfected their craft over generations. Every piece is hand-knotted or hand-woven from natural wool, so each carries the small marks of the hands that made it.
Whether it is a statement rug for the living room, a runner for the hall or a kilim for a reading corner, we would love to help you find the one.

Made by hand, every one
Each rug is hand-knotted or hand-woven by weavers in Afghanistan, with wool spun and dyed the old way. No machine-made copies, ever.
Straight from the weavers
We buy directly from weaving families. Fair prices for them, honest prices for you, and no chain of middlemen in between.

Online photos only go so far. Come to our Watford showroom, feel the pile and see the true colours, then decide.
The craft
How a rug is made
A hand-knotted rug of a few square metres can take a weaver months: every knot tied by hand, row by row, then washed, sheared and stretched.
Kilims are flat-woven, with no pile, which makes them light, reversible and tough enough for busy rooms.
